An “excess and bond” are also known as the “deductible and security deposit”.

An excess/deductible is the amount you are liable for in case of any damages to the vehicle, the liability amount could increase over and above this figure if damages caused are excluded by the supplier’s policy.

If the vehicle you requested is not available, you will not be charged as you do not have a confirmed booking. We will look for alternative vehicles for you and send you an email with any available options. If you select one of these options and it is confirmed, we will then collect payment.

Since the rates on our websites are already heavily reduced, a further discount may not be possible. However, there are a few rental companies that do offer multiple hire discounts, this is usually stated in their terms and conditions. Unexpected changes can happen, so at MACH Rideshare if your reservation has not been pre-paid, generally no cancellation fee will apply.

  • If you have pre-paid your booking a cancellation fee applies.
  • If you cancel at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled pick-up time, there is a $82.50 (inc. GST) cancellation fee.
  • If you cancel within 24 hours prior to the scheduled pick-up time, there is a $165.00 (inc. GST) cancellation fee.
  • If you fail to cancel your reservation prior to the pick-up time and do not collect the vehicle on the pick-up date, the entire pre-paid amount will be forfeited.
  • If the value of your reservation is less than the cancellation fee, you will not be charged any further amount and will not be entitled to any refund.

“Similar” means the rental company cannot guarantee a particular model car. We will provide you a vehicle with the same passenger capacity and similar size. For example, a Hyundai i30 Hatchback/Sedan is similar to a Toyota Corolla Hatchback/Sedan as these are in the same category.

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) limits the renter’s liability for the car to the Excess – the amount of money the car rental company will charge the renter in the event that the rental car is damaged. Such items as windscreen, locks, tires, undercarriage, keys, towing charges are often not covered by the CDW. Please check your confirmation voucher for terms and conditions to know what is covered.

The fuel policy explains how you will pay for the fuel and whether you need to fill the tank before you return the car or not. There is a certain Fuel policy for each car rental company displayed on the terms and conditions section, on your confirmation voucher and on the rental agreement provided by the car rental company at the counter.

In the case of breakdown or an accident, call MACH Rideshare straight away. The emergency number is indicated in you rental agreement. The car rental company will let you know what to do next. Keep any paperwork you completed. For accidents, a police report and an accident report from the car rental counter will be required.

Yes, we accept Visa and MasterCard debit cards. These cards must show the customer’s name, signature and card number, with the applicable logo. Prepaid and reloadable debit card and EFTPOS cards are not accepted. MACH Rideshare also does not accept electronic payments with phones or contactless tap and go payment types, you must present a physical card.

Generally all MACH Rideshare rentals include unlimited kilometres, unless otherwise indicated at the time of booking.

If you are booking a particular vehicle or rate which has limited kilometres you will be advised the kilometre allowance included per day and the cost of additional kilometres.

When paying with a credit or debit card, a Card Transaction Fee of 1.75% will apply to any amounts paid by card. This is a processing fee that is charged by the card issuers to MACH Rideshare.

Only those people whose names are recorded on the Rental Agreement may drive a MACH vehicle. Please Contact or email us to register an additional driver on your agreement. For more information on additional drivers including any applicable charges.

Additional charges will apply if you return your vehicle at a later date or time. You can extend your rental time by contacting us by phone or email us. You’ll find the phone number on your Rental Agreement or you can search our website.

The standard car rental insurance policies are Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Theft Protection (TP). They can be either included in the price, purchased from the car rental company or provided by the customer’s credit card company.

Yes, MACH Rideshare requires a deposit temporarily blocked on main driver’s credit card to cover damages or theft during your rental. The deposit amount is held for the duration of the rental and will be unblocked within two working days if you return the car undamaged at the end of the rental. If there are not enough funds available on main driver’s credit card to leave a deposit, MACH Rideshare may refuse to provide you with the car. The counter staff may also insist you buy additional cover from them. This is a common practice among car rental companies.
